Even though I've lived in California for many years now and am very content with my life there, I still get strength, rejuvenation and motivation from coming back to France, seeing my family and friends, and realizing that my city never changes. I feel so fortunate to be able to visit every year and I value every moment that I spend here because I know my time here is temporary.

Walking in the streets of my town, reminds me of how lucky I am to have grown up in a place of such history and inspiration. I love walking among 11th Century buildings, examining their architecture, and considering the significance of historical happenings here, such as the birth of impressionism. I mean, to be a budding artist, born and bred in the birthplace of Monet! There is nothing like it.

For the next couple of weeks, I'll be taking you along with me, as we discover the sights and sounds of Normandy and Paris. Even though it is only an hour away from Paris, Normandy often gets overlooked and I look forward to sharing insight as I keep my eye on the stores, streets, architecture and poetic surroundings. I look forward to having you along for the ride on this special journey.
