BLACK FRANCE VS BLACK AMERICA - THE INVISIBLE INJUSTICE

Being the product of two countries has given me a unique perspective on both. I am lucky enough to have the experience of being raised in France, and also being able to return regularly to see the country's evolution. I've talked before about moving to the US because I didn't see myself being able to thrive in an environment where, what I like to call, the "invisible injustice" exists. It's not to say that there aren't protests or movements in France, but the thing that makes the US different, is the concept of communities and coalition building. Black Lives Matter is a perfect example. Here, people help their communities when they succeed - it's a sense that we are all one and the we need to work together. That idea really fits with me and what I want to accomplish for my life and my work.
